The crémants from Caves Gales

Édition N°04 · October 2024 Lecture 3 min
The crémants from Caves Gales
Isabelle & Georges Gales

Since 1916, the name Gales in Luxembourg has been synonymous with superior quality. Crémants are a family tradition.

It was the grandfather of Isabelles and Georges Gales who recognised the potential of crémants decades ago. Under the guidance of the father of the current directors, the first crémant, Gales Héritage, was produced in the early 1990s, marking the beginning of future generations of sparkling wines. Today, Caves Gales produces a full range of superior quality crémants in the Ellange-Gare facility, which was built over 20 years ago specifically for this production. Quality continues to evolve with each generation, as Isabelle Gales reveals: ‘My grandfather’s Gales Private Cuvée Brut still exists today. But since then, our crémants have gained significantly in finesse and complexity.’

‘More fruit, fantastic aromas, and crémants that stand out especially for their fine bubbles’ is how the expert describes the Gales Héritage. With G by Gales, Isabelle and her brother Georges have set the bar even higher: ‘The uniqueness of this cuvée largely comes from reserve wines that have been aged in barrels.’ It’s a crémant that truly stands out.’The Héritage range has also expanded, with a rosé crémant that impresses with its aromas,’ and Isabelle Gales’ absolute favorite: the Héritage Millésime 2016, whose many layers rival even champagne.

‘My grandfather’s Gales Private Cuvée Brut still exists today. But since then, our crémants have gained significantly in finesse and complexity.’
